Participants in the certificate program Certified Financial Modeler who have chosen the path “academic excellence” obtain so-called ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits following the successful completion of Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3. In this context they obtain
- the certificate Certified Financial Modeler from the German Institute for Corporate Finance in English
- a university certificate from HfWU
- a certificate supplement which lists courses completed and ECTS awarded.
Module 1 and Module 2, respectively the individual sub-modules which were completed in the context of the certificate program Certified Financial Modeler can be presented for the transfer of credits in bachelor and master programs.
The certificate program Certified Financial Modeler consists of the three modules
- Module 1: Foundations of Financial Modeling
- Module 2: Applied Financial Modeling
- Module 3: Financial Modeling Project
ECTS are awarded as follows:
All four module elements within Module 1 are relevant for the exam. This means that participants can obtain 10 ECTS within Module 1. Within Module 2 participants can choose three out of four electives. This means that participants can obtain 25 ECtS within Module 2.
Detailed Information can be found in the module manual
The 10 ECTS from Module 1 and the 15 ECTS from Module 2 can be presented for the transfer of credits in bachelor and master programs.
Module 3 is not graded and thus these 10 ECTS cannot be presented for the transfer of credits in bachelor and master programs.
Hence a successful participant of the certificate program Certified Financial Modeler can present for transfer of credit up to 25 ECTS in bachelor and master programs.
The ECTS credits earned in the Academic Excellence program will be recognized for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) Quantitative Finance at the HfWU.
From a compliance point of view, ECTS crediting for consecutive Master's programs at the HfWU and generally crediting at the Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) is excluded.
